The so-called deformation is usually the phenomenon that the shape and size of mechanical components change under the action of external forces. Microscopically, it refers to the lattice distortion of metal materials under the action of external forces. If the external force is eliminated and the lattice distortion is eliminated, the deformation is elastic deformation; if the external force is eliminated, the lattice cannot be restored, that is, if the distortion cannot be eliminated, the deformation is called plastic deformation. Deformation failure refers to the excessive deformation of mechanical components in the process of use, that is, the deformation can not meet the original design requirements. Generally, deformation failure is divided into elastic deformation failure and plastic deformation failure. The failure of elastic deformation will not leave any damage trace on the surface of the mechanical component, only the elastic modulus of the metal material is biochemical, but has nothing to do with the size and shape of the mechanical component; the failure of plastic deformation will cause the surface damage of the mechanical component, and the shape and size of the mechanical component will change.
