Detection Purpose: Test of mechanical properties under bending load
Detection range: Metal, non-metal and other materials
Bending test is one of the basic methods for testing mechanical properties of materials. Bending test is mainly used to measure the bending strength of brittle and low plastic materials (such as cast iron, high carbon steel, tool steel, etc.) and to reflect the deflection of plastic index. Bending tests can also be used to check the surface quality of materials. The bending test is carried out on the universal material machine. There are two loading methods: three-point bending and four-point bending (see figure). The cross section of the sample is circular and rectangular, and the span of the test is generally 10 times the diameter. For brittle materials, the bending test generally produces only a small amount of plastic deformation and can be destroyed, while for plastic materials, the bending fracture strength cannot be measured, but its ductility and uniformity can be tested. The bending test of plastic material is called cold bending test. During the test, the specimen was loaded and bent to a certain extent to observe whether there were cracks on the surface of the specimen.
