Impact test
Impact toughness test is also called impact toughness test. It is one of the basic test methods for mechanical properties of materials. In the impact test, the work consumed by the thrust specimen is called the impact work, and the unit is joule (J), expressed as A. A/F is obtained by dividing A by the cross-sectional area F of the sample gap, and the unit is joule /cm(J/cm(), which is called the impact value of the material. It can be used to evaluate the toughness and brittleness of materials, but it cannot be directly used for design calculation.
The impact test is very sensitive to the microstructure defects of metal materials, which can detect the defects and microstructure changes of materials during smelting and processing. The same sample under the from high to low temperature impact test, the impact energy (or toughness) will from big to small, crystalline fracture from less to more, plastic deformation from big to small, suggesting that material by ductile transition state to brittle state, usually in the fracture of 50% when the crystalline fracture area on temperature is called a ductile to brittle transition temperature or brittle transition temperature.
