Point corrosion test

Pitting corrosion (pitting corrosion) is a kind of corrosion form that the corrosion concentrates on the metal surface within the range of tens of microns and develops to the depth.            Pitting is a typical form of local corrosion, which has great potential and destructive. In petroleum, chemical industry and marine industry, it can cause perforation of pipe wall, leakage of a large number of oil, gas and other media, sometimes even fire, explosion and other serious accidents.            Pitting leads to very small weight loss of metal, because the anode area is very small and the local corrosion speed is very fast, it often makes equipment and pipe wall perforated, which leads to sudden accidents.            It is difficult to check pitting, because the size of pitting is very small and often covered by corrosion products, so it is difficult to measure and compare the degree of pitting quantitatively.            It is the most destructive and hidden corrosion form.
