This standard specifies the requirements and acceptance criteria for short-range discharge type tests of quarter-turn valves. The type test included in this article requires elements based on EPA method 21. Valves larger than NPS 24 and valves larger than ASME B16.34 class 1500 are not covered by this standard. Valves with ambient temperatures below 6.89 barg (100 psig) are not covered by this standard. Valve repackaging or resealing is not covered by this standard.
